Candidates must have completed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board. No minimum marks are specified, but qualifying is required.
NIFT conducts Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) for admission.
NID
conducts Design Aptitude Test (DAT) in two stages:
Prelims (objective
+ sketching) and
Mains (studio test + interview).
UCEED
has three sections: Visualization and Spatial Ability, Observation and
Design Sensitivity, and Environment and Society, plus analytical and
numerical reasoning. Duration is 3 hours, online.
CEED is for postgraduate design programs (M.Des, M.Plan) and tests visualization, creativity, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
NIFT, NID, and UCEED exams are mostly computer-based (online). CEED is online with written/problem-solving components.
· NIFT GAT: GAT section has negative marking, typically 0.25 marks for wrong answers.
· CAT and DAT: No negative marking.

Yes. For NIFT, NID, UCEED, and CEED, candidates from any
